warranty/use & care

  • 2-Week No Questions Asked Returns:

If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with the fit and finish, please utilize our 2-week no-questions-asked returns policy. The watch must be in new and unworn condition to be eligible for a refund, with all original packaging intact. The buyer is responsible for the insured return shipping cost, including tracking, and a 10% restocking fee. Homemade reserves the right to deny a return or issue a partial refund if these terms are unmet. Please use the contact form under Shop/Connect to start a return.

    12-Month Limited Warranty:

There is a 2 in 12, so it works :) Anyway, in the unlikely event that your watch acts a fool within 12 months of purchase, please send it to me for a free diagnostic, repair, or replacement. You pay the insured (with tracking) shipping to me; I pay the insured shipping back to you. This limited warranty covers assembly/manufacturing faults, failures, or defects. This warranty does not cover issues such as the following, but please note that I will repair any of these issues at cost during the warranty period.

    • Damage due to improper care or expected consequences of use, such as abrasions and aging.

    • Mechanical failure from impact, mishandling, or extreme temperatures (e.g., leaving the timepiece in a hot car).

    • Water damage. I can repair it at cost in the unlikely event it happens.

    • Malfunction of the quick set date function due to poor mechanical care (e.g., changing the date between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m., AKA “the danger zone”)

    • The warranty is voided if the watch is opened by anyone other than me.

    2-Year Fresh-Up & Check-Up:

Send your watch to me within 2 years of purchasing for a complimentary exterior cleaning, strap change (you supply the strap), caseback gasket replacement, and time regulation. You pay for insured (with tracking) shipping to me, and I pay for insured shipping back to you.

    IMPORTANT NOTES:

-Metal-plated parts (e.g., Rose Gold) are excluded from warranty because they will tarnish over time and require re-plating based on many factors, including use and daily care.

  • After unscrewing the crown (counterclockwise, and please BE GENTLE), the functions are as follows:

    Position 1: Manual Wind (clockwise)

Position 2: Date Setting (counterclockwise) NOTE: Dateless watches (NH38) do not have this setting.

    Position 3: Time (both directions)

After use, return the crown to position 1, push in, and screw down until it stops (clockwise). This is vital, as it produces a water-resistant seal.

    • DO NOT change the date between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m., AKA "the danger zone"

    • Wipe down with the provided cloth after each use. Skin oils, products, and environmental conditions will affect your watch's finish, which is not covered under warranty.

    • It’s typically best practice to avoid prolonged water submersion of your timepiece and to avoid saltwater. Please refer to the Water Resistance Guide for more information.

    • Your watch should be professionally serviced and lubricated every 5-10 years.

  • IMPORTANT: Sellita recommends manually winding the watch 5-10 times ONLY to get it started, and then use the rotor's motion to fully wind it.
