Twenty-four hours. That was the only grace period my Aunt Antonia had between stepping off a plane from Italy and clocking in for her first shift at the Bulova Watch Company in Providence. For my “Zia,” what began as a necessity became an inspiring forty-year manufacturing legacy. That standard of labor raised me. My own career has been lived in the blur of a speeding rescue, the pull of a firehose, and the rhythm of a job site.
As a lifelong artist and watch enthusiast, discovering my Zia’s story felt like a homecoming.
I’ve worn countless timepieces, yet none ever felt like “the one.” I sought a timepiece with local roots—something attainable, but not mass-produced. I wanted a workhorse with the distinction of a gallery piece: a watch built to survive my days, navigate them, and ground me through them. When I couldn’t find it, I realized it was time to thin my collection, refine my skillsets, and make it myself—a mindset inherited from the generations before me.
So, welcome—take your time in exploring the Homemade difference.
