My Watches Through The Years…
The Road to Here: A Collection of Memories
Over the years, I’ve worn countless timepieces. While I eventually sold most of my collection to fund the birth of this business, these watches haven’t truly left me—they live on in the stories they helped tell.
My journey started in elementary school with a Casio Calculator watch, which I’m convinced was the world’s first "smartwatch" (at least to a kid wishing he could stream TV under the covers). As I moved into my career on ambulances and fire engines, a Victorinox Swiss Army that my uncle bought me became my ride-or-die, enduring the grit and chaos of the line. I wore my Hamilton Khaki Field for a couple of years while working as a facilities manager, and it took a beating with pride. I also enjoyed a small SWATCH for a while, until I scuffed the mineral crystal so badly I threw it in the trash.
There were milestones, too. A TAG Heuer Link accompanied me on every date with the woman who is now my wife, including a life-changing trip to Italy. I loved my Longines Dolcevita and wore it to my brother’s wedding. And while the Bell & Ross BR-05 taught me that my love for design had its financial limits, the sale of that piece helped pave the way for our first "Swiss Made" OGs.
Speaking of Swiss Made, I own a 35mm Tissot PRX that I bought at Bucherer during my bucket-list trip to Switzerland. And perhaps the most important isn't the most expensive. My grandfather’s Invicta Pro Diver sits on my bench today. I’ll be honest: it’s not my style. But every time I see it, I’m back in his garage, watching him tinker.
Now, you will only see me in a Homemade, maybe until someone buys a Paneria Luminor, because god knows I will never spend that much on a watch. :p
That’s why I do this—because a watch is never just about the time; it’s about the memories you make while wearing it.
